TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The subsidiaries of Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) are currently pursuing 50 research and development projects.

Mojtaba Taheri, director of planning and development at PGPIC, said, “Today, attention to innovation in all activities is felt as a basic necessity.”

He said given the outbreaks of the coronavirus and the global lockdowns, countries that fail to manage the developments will stay behind, therefore there is a crucial need for taking into account research and development projects to make processes more efficient.

Likewise, PGPIC subsidiaries have defined over 50 R&D projects to address this need and supply new items, optimize processes and promote the quality of their output while saving energy, localizing catalysts, and producing value-added products, he said.

Taheri went on to add that PGPIC had so far signed agreements with knowledge-based companies and startups as well as universities and research centers in this regard. Moreover, it is in constant relations with the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry and the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PRTC).
