Addressing a specialized meeting on "Methanol
Production Surplus, Price Effects and Completing the Value Chain" on
Wednesday, the second day of the 6th Iran Petroleum and Energy Congress
and Exhibition, Marzieh Shahdaei underlined the increase in methanol output of the
country, adding: "With the existing technologies to convert methanol to
other products, this chain can be completed."
The specialized meeting was chaired by Behzad Mohammadi, Deputy
Minister of Petroleum for Petrochemical Affairs and the CEO of the National
Petrochemical Company (NPC).
Marzieh Shahdaei pointed out that Petrofarhang Holding
intends to implement three GTPP projects through the methanol in addition to
methanol projects, and continued: “This holding company has recently received
the MTP license from the National Petrochemical Company to consume a portion of
the methanol produced in the country instead of having it exported.”
