Iran Launches $6b Petchem Projects

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh said the country had recently launched two major petrochemical projects with 6 billion dollars of investment.

Addressing the 6th Iran Petroleum and Energy Congress (IPEC), the official said once the country’s third petrochemical leap reaches fruition, the country would reap $33 billion in annual petrochemical revenues by 2025.

He said the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum supported development of the petrochemical industry, adding various projects had been defined in the industry for developing propylene, methanol, benzene and ethylene plants.

He also added that development of the projects was viewed as a priority for the Petroleum Ministry.
