Methanol Park to be Built in Parsian Special Economic Zone

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- A meeting was held for the construction of a methanol petrochemical park and downstream industries in the Parsian Energy-Intensive Industries Special Economic Zone with a production capacity of 2 million tons per year.

According to Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), Abdul Ali Ali Askari, the PGPIC CEO), in a meeting for the construction of a methanol petrochemical park and downstream industries in the special economic zone of Parsian Energy Industries, underlined the global conditions governing the methanol market and the need to produce diverse products, saying: “As soon as the required land is delivered and the infrastructure is ready, the implementation of the methanol petrochemical park and downstream industries in the Parsian Energy-Intensive Special Economic Zone will be carried out as soon as possible.”

Pointing to the necessity of providing 2,000 hectares with a view to the development of the project in the future, he added: “To start the project, 500 hectares of land must be acquired by PGPIC.”
