According to Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company, Saeed Baghadam
expressed his satisfaction with the direct conversation with customers at a
specialized meeting of the petrochemical industry and the value chain of the
leather and footwear industry held on the sidelines of the 9th Ampex Exhibition,
saying over 150 years have passed since the first PVC war processed in the
world; an item which has reached 55 million ton production today globally of
which 60% is consumed in Asia and the Oceanic.
By presenting a report on the PVC market in the world, he stated: “This
valuable product generates $80 billion in wealth annually in today's world, and
this trend is increasing, and according to its average growth of 3.2%, the size
of the market is expected to reach $102 bn/y by 2028.
The head of Besparan Petrochemical Complex in Bandar Imam Petrochemical
Plant added: “The PVC production capacity in Iran was 20,000 tons per year
before the revolution, but now it has reached 750,000 tons per year.”
Referring to the capacity and needs of the domestic market, Baghadam
continued: “Until 10 years ago, we were importing EPVC from abroad, and feeling
the need to establish a unit inside the country, after examining and thinking
together with customers, the country's annual consumption was estimated at
20,000 tons. The E-PVC of Arvand Petrochemical Plant was established to address
this need with a capacity of 40,000 tons per year.”
The head of Besparan Petrochemical Complex of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Plant
further announced the beginning of studies on construction of a PVC unit in Bandar
Imam Petrochemical Company.
