TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Russia is interested in using Iran's petrochemical technology and products, according to Kazem Jalali, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia.

Speaking at the 14th Iran Petrochemical Forum, Jalali stated that the relations between Iran and Russia are developing day by day in the petrochemical sector.

He also highlighted some problems affecting the development of relations between the two countries, including issues with transit and banking.

However, Jalali remained optimistic and stated that the two countries have common approaches in international arenas.

He announced that Russia's Vice President, Mr. Novak, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Russia, will visit Iran at the end of May, where they will meet with Iran's Petroleum Minister, Javad Owji, to discuss potential agreements in the energy sector.

The ambassador's comments suggest that Iran's petrochemical industry could be set for further expansion, as Russia looks to take advantage of Iran's technology and products.

The upcoming visit by Russian officials is a clear sign of the interest in strengthening relations between the two countries. While there are challenges to overcome, including those related to transit and banking, the potential benefits of increased cooperation could be significant for both Iran and Russia.
