Speaking at the specialized meeting
"Petrochemical: Marketing and Downstream Applications" at the 14th Iran
Petrochemical Forum (IPF), Moreira highlighted that the office would aim to facilitate
investment and agricultural activities between Iranian and Brazilian companies.
During his visit to Iran, Moreira met with large
companies and visited free zones, saying that PGG is interested in establishing
a representative office in the Middle East in Iran. The company has
subsidiaries in Uruguay, and Moreira expressed interest in having Iranian
companies actively present in the Brazilian market, and establishing joint
cooperation between the two countries.
PGG has been active for ten years and started its
activities in cooperation with Samsung, working closely with Korean companies
to be present in the Brazilian market. The company is interested in importing
urea fertilizer to Brazil, considering the expansion of the agricultural
industry in Brazil. Moreira emphasized that 97% of Brazil's need for urea
fertilizer is met through imports, and in 2022, Brazil's urea import is
expected to reach eight million tons.
Moreira stated that the establishment of the
representative office in Iran would contribute to the development of bilateral
cooperation between the two countries, and PGG is ready to negotiate with
Iranian companies to import urea and develop cooperation.
