TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The International Conference of the Iranian Petrochemical Industry (Iran Petrochemical Forum-IPF), which took place earlier this week, is an opportunity to prepare the development path of the petrochemical industry in the future, according to the Deputy Minister of Petroleum and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, Morteza Shahmirzaei.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the conference, Shahmirzaei said that the event was held to present the achievements and updates of the petrochemical industry to continue its development, and thanked all those involved in organizing the conference.

He emphasized the importance of localizing the industry and achieving the latest technical and specialized findings, saying that the completion of the value chain is a strategic goal of the petrochemical industry.

He urged petrochemical holdings to take more serious actions, like the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), which has implemented chemical parks to complete the chain, and announced that the extension of the chain to the National Petrochemical Company is a priority.

Shahmirzaei also asked domestic manufacturers to deliver orders on time to avoid delays in the implementation of petrochemical projects. The conference saw the presence of 6,300 Iranian and world petrochemical industry activists, and featured eight specialized panels with over 40 domestic and foreign managers and professors expressing their latest operational and scientific achievements, as well as business promotion sessions and 42 exhibition booths showcasing the supply and added value chain of the petrochemical industry.
