TEHRAN (NIPNA) - Bandar Imam Petrochemical Plant, a subsidiary of Iran's Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), started an overhaul of its aromatic and paraxylene units to eliminate production bottlenecks and increase product quality.

The overhaul, which is expected to last 55 days, involves major actions such as increasing the unit's capacity by re-tubing the furnaces and their header lines, reviving the catalyst of the reactors, repairing the flares with new methods and extensive repairs on the feed and product lines.

The main feed of Bandar Imam Petrochemical's aromatic unit is naphtha sent from Abadan Refinery and the products of this unit are benzene, mixture of xylenes, raffinate and liquid gas.
