TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- In a visit to the Lordegan Petrochemical Company, Morteza Shahmirzaei, the Deputy Minister of Petroleum and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, highlighted the Ministry’s plan to indigenize and maximize self-sufficiency in the petrochemical industry.

He stressed the importance of providing opportunities to domestic experts while cautioning against compromising quality for speed.

According to the public relations department of the Lordegan Petrochemical Company, Shahmirzaei underscored the necessity of sourcing required catalysts for the petrochemical industry locally, breaking away from decades of reliance on foreign supplies.

He emphasized the need for self-sufficiency and stated that the National Petrochemical Company aims to ensure that no imported goods enter the market within the next two to three years.

This path of indigenization and self-sufficiency, as demonstrated by the Lordegan Petrochemical Company, should be expedited while giving opportunities to local experts and exercising patience, as the rewards of such patience are bound to be sweet.

The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company also stressed the importance of enhanced collaboration with industrial zones and domestic workshops. By imparting knowledge to the youth and placing trust in their capabilities, the petrochemical industry's value chain can be completed. Moreover, the remaining imported products can be produced domestically in the near future, eliminating the need for imports.

Deputy Minister of Petroleum reiterated that the Ministry’s and the National Petrochemical Company's policy is to promote domestic production. However, one crucial aspect of this journey is not to sacrifice quality for speed. In other words, the goal is to manufacture components whose quality is no less than that of similar foreign products.
