Deputy Oil Minister Visits Makran Petchem Hub

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The Deputy Petroleum Minister and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) visited the Makran Petrochemical Hub, heralding it as the largest industrial establishment in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

During a two-day excursion to the Chabahar region, Morteza Shahmirzai, Deputy Petroleum Minister and the NPC CEO, inspected the ongoing petrochemical projects located within the Gem of Makran Petrochemical Complex.

Highlighting the transformation of Makran into the third industrial hub for petrochemicals in the region, Shahmirzai emphasized the proximity of this hub to international markets, owing to its adjacency to the Sea of Oman compared to the hubs in Asalouyeh and Mahshahr.

Speaking about the developmental aspirations for the petrochemical industry in the Makran region, the Deputy Petroleum Minister remarked on Makran's exceptional attributes, expressing plans in line with the Seventh Development Plan to attract a staggering €20 billion in petrochemical investments within this area.
