ILAM (NIPNA) – Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) is set to address feedstock challenges for the NGL 3100 and Dehloran petrochemical projects by the end of the year, with discussions on final solutions scheduled for next week, according to senior officials.

Hassan Abbaszadeh, Deputy Petroleum Minister and NPC CEO, announced the plan during his visit to Dehloran’s industrial sites, stating that the government aims to activate dormant oil and gas projects, particularly in the petrochemical sector. “NGL 3100 will collect associated gas, preventing waste and creating value-added products, while supplying feedstock for Dehloran’s olefin unit,” he said.

Progress Amidst Challenges

Abbaszadeh noted that over 90% of the equipment for the Dehloran olefin unit is in place, and construction progress exceeds 50%. However, he urged the Pension Fund, a key stakeholder, to grant a one-year extension for loan repayments to facilitate resumption of operations.

Local Concerns Over Delays

Assadollah Cheraghi, a parliamentarian representing Dehloran and neighboring regions, highlighted the economic importance of the project, stressing that delays have fueled local dissatisfaction. “It’s unacceptable for a project of this magnitude to stall, leaving local youth unemployed,” he said.

Dehloran’s Governor, Latif Sadeghi, echoed the call for action, emphasizing the government’s commitment to completing unfinished projects. “We expect the feedstock supply issue to be resolved soon, turning these discussions into tangible progress for our province,” he added.

National Collaboration to Ensure Progress

Farrokh Alikhani, Director of Oil Production Supervision at the National Iranian Oil Company, confirmed that technical reviews for feedstock provision are underway. “We’ll hold a final review meeting next week to resolve all technical and logistical issues,” he said.

Ilam’s Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs, Shahriar Abbasi, assured full provincial support for the projects. “These initiatives are critical for Dehloran’s development and employment. We’re ready to collaborate at every level to ensure their success,” he said.

A United Push for Development

Accompanied by key NPC officials and parliamentarians, Abbaszadeh’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to revitalizing stalled projects. The resolution of feedstock issues is expected to accelerate the completion of these strategic petrochemical ventures, boosting local economies and employment in the process.
