TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The Iranian government has reaffirmed its determination to develop the Makran coasts and accelerate the completion of industrial projects in the region, a senior official said.

Ali Abdolalizadeh, the special envoy of the president for coordinating the implementation of sea-oriented development policies, made the announcement during a visit to the Badr-e Sharq Petrochemical Complex in the Chabahar Free Zone on Thursday.

He was accompanied by Brigadier General Asghar Saleh, head of the Resistance Economy Headquarters and National and International Cooperation Task Force of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Behzad Ansari, CEO of Badr-e Sharq Petrochemical Company, briefed the delegation on the project's progress, highlighting recent milestones such as the installation of the methanol unit's control system, delivery of heavy and semi-heavy equipment, and shipment of additional components to the project site.

Abdolalizadeh praised the ongoing efforts and reiterated the administration's focus on harnessing the potential of the Makran region, emphasizing strategic investments to enhance economic and industrial growth.

The Makran coast, a vital economic corridor in southeastern Iran, has been a centerpiece of national development plans, attracting infrastructure projects and investments in petrochemicals, ports, and logistics to strengthen the region's role in international trade.
