TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Ghodratollah Nasiri, Director of Research, Technology, and Localization at the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), stressed the importance of systematically identifying the technological and knowledge needs of the petrochemical industry to enhance resilience and promote localization.

Speaking at the 31st Maintenance and Repairs Managers' Summit for Iran’s Petrochemical Industry, Nasiri highlighted the industry's reliance on collaboration and synergy across all sectors to ensure continuous growth and progress.

Key Points from the Address:

    Strategic Support and Policy-Making:

NPC is committed to supporting and guiding companies in meeting their technological requirements. Comprehensive and well-structured maintenance and repair programs are essential to ensure sustainable production and prevent unplanned shutdowns.

    Post-Maintenance Incidents:

Nasiri cited data showing that 47% of incidents occur after maintenance activities. He emphasized the need for a robust database of skilled specialists and technicians to enable timely and effective responses during emergencies.

    Knowledge Preservation and Transfer:

Institutionalizing knowledge transfer via books, audio, and video formats is critical for building expertise.

Petrochemical companies and holding groups should systematically document and archive the experiences and insights of their staff.

    Risk-Investment Fund for Localization:

Nasiri proposed establishing a venture capital fund to support localization initiatives and address industry-specific needs. Initial steps for its formation are already underway.

    Supplier and Manufacturer Evaluation:

Ranking and categorizing suppliers and manufacturers of essential equipment and components are crucial for ensuring reliability and quality.

    Integrated Systems for Specialized Needs:

Developing centralized and specialized platforms can streamline the process of meeting the technological and knowledge-based requirements of maintenance units in the industry.

This initiative aligns with NPC’s mission to enhance operational efficiency and technological advancement, ensuring resilience and competitiveness in Iran's petrochemical sector.
