Speaking to the company’s public relations office, Mirashrafi
highlighted TPC’s pioneering efforts in utilizing municipal wastewater,
significantly contributing to preserving the Zarineh Roud water supply for
local residents.
TPC is also progressing on a project to transfer and reuse treated
wastewater from Tabriz's municipal treatment plant.
"Tabriz Petrochemical is proud to be recognized as an
environmentally friendly industry, prioritizing sustainable and green
operations. Our role as a pollution-free entity underscores our commitment to
safeguarding the environment, a distinction that stands as a source of pride for
East Azerbaijan Province," he said.
In addition to its green initiatives, TPC has implemented advanced
environmental projects, including the 100% recovery of wastewater, covering
effluent treatment basins, eliminating volatile organic compounds through
regenerative thermal oxidation (RTO) systems, and managing gas emissions from
ABS units.
As the largest industrial complex in northwestern Iran, TPC has a
nominal production capacity of 870,000 tons of polymers and hydrocarbon
byproducts, including polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and ABS. The
company markets approximately 450,000 tons of high-quality products annually,
leveraging licenses from leading global firms.
Mirashrafi also noted TPC’s focus on value-chain development, with
recent projects such as a polypropylene unit, pallet manufacturing facilities,
and reducing PG feedstock dependency. The company is currently implementing the
largest oil and gas development project in the region.
TPC has reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate with East Azerbaijan’s
Environmental Protection Department on initiatives to improve environmental
indicators, furthering its role as a leader in sustainable industrial
practices.
